SDK Updates
We shipped 5.6.0 with basic support for Unity 6, but now we're releasing 5.7.1 -- the feature-complete SDK version.
- Unity 6 WebGL Optimization: Full support for Unity 6 WebGL features. Update SDK for automatic performance boosts in your next build. To gain the performance (both in compiling and playing), simply update the SDK to 5.7.0 or later and make a game build!
- Fast Build by Default: Unity 6+ uses Fast Build by default. Checkbox removed, but always have WebGL build 2-4x faster than Unity native.
- New Playable Location API:
GetPlayableLocation()
returns where your game is played (e.g., Crazy Games, Discord). Call it from the C# Pley SDK. - AdsKit Update: Moved out of experimental. Ads have been very successful, and it's fantastic to see the revenue games are gaining. Additionally, we are testing interstitial ads specifically on Crazy Games. Check availability with
CanShowAdAsync(PleyAdType.Interstitial)
, which will return true if on Crazy Games.
Platform Updates
- Build Post-Processing: Scales on-demand, processes builds instantly across all release tracks for faster workflows. No more waiting for post-processing during high-demand periods.
- Loading Videos: Upload custom videos in Game Manager to display during game loading. Enhances player engagement, improves loading screen conversion rates, reduces user acquisition costs, and increases player retention by creating a polished, branded loading experience.
